Sky Sea Volumes:

Uh…we’ll get around to putting volume one up..Sometime. Or not.. Who knows? I don’t. You all suck.

In case anyone was wondering, which they probably weren’t, the reason I haven’t added the next 20 or so pages was because of my still yet to be fixed computer. So, i’m tossing the original pages over to Cobra(My working slave), and having him upload em for me. And when Catnato is able to, he’ll have his own work up on this cruddy place. I was always a Catnato fan. Anyway….Stay tuned? Uh, what’s today’s date? 8/12/07? Yeah- Sachi.

 Um…..August 21.. I think. Pages 38-50 have been scanned in…so..have your fill

Volume 2 has pages 51 and 52…. Aug 30

Check back for more updates ~Sachi

Day 1

Jason is an outcast, a monkey among an endless sea of humans.  His only friend is his father, his role-model, the captain of the Golden Dragon.  Unfortunately, his father has left on a journey to explore the open seas, leaving Jason and his sister, Samantha, to fend for themselves.  However, in a tragic tale of racism made all the more extreme, Jason and his sister are persecuted for their odd qualities.  Jason is forced to fight in perilous death matches daily in order to preserve himself and his sister from the wrathful ignorance of humans.

The day our story begins is what should be a day of rejoicing for both Jason and his sister, for their esteemed father has finally returned.  Instead, Jason is merely cast into a deep depression as he laments his father’s absence.  Mistaking grief for anger, Jason despises his father, refusing even a simple handshake.  Though his sister tries her best to keep Jason under control, the scene becomes too much for him to bear, causing him to flee the scene.

Wandering the landscape, Jason ponders his emotions:  His fear, his hurt, and most of all his anger.  This stress is a catalyst for the radion seeping within his veins, allowing the mutative substance to finally burst forth and change Jason’s life forever.

As his body transforms into a form of living stone, he begins to sink into the sandy surface below.  Luckily for Jason, his father and sister manage to pull him from the grainy depths of the earth.  Jason, however, is not so happy to have been saved by his father, a man he had believed to have abandoned him.

Fleeing once more, Jason decides to take a walk through the nearby town.  Sadly, humans remain unchanging in their fear of those who are different; it is this fear that is the cause of Jason’s shooting.  From nowhere in particular, a bullet is shot straight into Jason’s stomach; a gang leader looks down on him with disdain from above.  Spouting nonsense about the inferiority of monkeys, he orders Jason to be taken away.

Jason is hung by his hands for the entire town to look at, to ridicule.  Only through Jason’s father’s courage does he regain his fighting spirit and utterly defeat those who had caused him so much pain.

Shortly after his family’s reunion, Jason takes it upon himself to set out upon his own journey: a journey to find both himself and a home for his family.  However, he does not leave as Jason, the child who allowed himself to face so many hardships.  Instead, he leaves as Sachi, the name of both his father and a true man.

Day 2

We are introduced to Alven Spencer, a young man training in the way of the sword.  Though the day did not seem peculiar, Alven’s life would soon be permanently altered… by a flying monkey.

As Alven trains in his dojo, Sachi begins to succumb to his inevitable boredom; for, how long can sailing throughout the air entertain an adolescent primate?  In an attempt to satiate his need for excitement, Sachi tests the limits of his newly found powers by stretching his arm in the form of a grappling hook.  Latching onto the nearby pier, our unfortunate protagonist ponders how to retract his arm.  Realizing all too suddenly and accidentally how to retrieve his extended appendage, Sachi sails through the air –this time without the aid of his airship— and, even more unfortunately, lets go of the pier at the worst possible moment.  Sailing through the air, Sachi attempts to warn those below of his inevitable crash with his trademarked call of “NEH!”

Even during these catastrophic occurrences, Alven continues in his attempt to perfect his sword fighting abilities:  he is in the midst of meditation when Sachi touches down.  Of course, at the velocity Sachi is traveling, an elegant arrival is out of the question; instead, he literally destroys an entire side of the Spencer family dojo in a devastating crash landing.  Luckily for Sachi, his abilities prevent a gruesome death as his stone-like body resists splatting into a nice red goo on the hard, unforgiving ground.

Alven’s sister and mother make friends with Sachi immediately; however, Alven takes longer to warm up to the lovable simian.  In exchange for a place to stay, Sachi promises to fix the dojo wall.  In a majority vote, Sachi acquires bunking with Alven for the time being.

Shortly after Sachi’s arrival, a miscreant approached the Spencer family dojo.  However, Sachi is not about to allow his new friends to sustain any harm; he stands at the doorway and threatens the fool with his stony might.  Delivering a powerful blow to the man’s abdomen, Sachi dispatches the villain and thereby further repays his debt to his accidental victims, the Spencers.

 Day 3

A new day dawns on the Spencer household, and Alven is awoken by his sister Amanda.  Amanda informs Alven that the adamant Sachi had already completed work on the dojo wall, which of course perplexes Alven and causes him to feel a need to observe Sachi’s handiwork for himself.  Dragging Amanda along behind him, Alven soon reaches the dojo and stares agape at the superb job Sachi had done with the wall.

Sachi had just begun to brag when Robin Spencer called for breakfast, causing everyone to rush to the kitchen.  Robin had cooked omelettes, a Spencer family specialty, and Sachi just can’t get enough.  In fact, the entire sensual experience causes him to burst into an entirely unnecessary song and dance—the omelet song—which goes on for several minutes; however, Alven and Amanda, jealous of Sachi’s brown-nosing talents, interrupt his song before its completion.

Once the omelets had been completely consumed Sachi asks about a mysterious figure he had observed in a picture lying about the household.  Robin informs Sachi that the figure in the photograph is none other than Thomas Spencer, father to Alven and Amanda and a magnificent swordsman.  He apparently died in a battle of swords some time ago.

Alven then tells Sachi that he has something to show him, so the duo travels to another room in the house.  There, Alven presents Sachi with a locked box.  While Alven searches for the key, Sachi takes it into his head to bust the chest open with a stony fist.  Alven then shows Sachi Kokaishu, the treasure that had been lying within the chest.  Kokaishu is a sword that shifts its form to that which is best suited to its wielder, and was also the weapon of choice of his father Thomas.  Unfortunately, as Sachi and Alven admire the magnificent weapon, a belligerent band of criminals lurk just out the window and anesthetize them.

Upon their awakening they realize that Kokaishu has been stolen and a note has been left in its place.  The note states that a group of thugs named the Maxineilion Gang has stolen not only Kokaishu but also Robin and Amanda Spencer.  (Why the gang didn’t just kill them all is left to anyone’s guess….)

Day 4

After a short search, the duo stumbles across the hard to miss hideout of the infamous Maxinelion gang.  Commenting on the horrendous aesthetic design of the structure, Sachi decimates a wall, intruding on a celebration being held for the capture of Kokaishu.

After hearing a report on the appearance of our two heroes, the boss of the gang orders them to be captured and taken away and thrown into “the punching pit,” a cavern beneath the hideout which employs deadly, yet comical, cartoon gloves to decimate intruders.

Within the pit, Sachi decides to make use of the situation in order to show off the mastery he has attained of his Radion-induced stone abilities.  Transforming himself completely into stone, he shifts his malleable exterior into a pinball-like form; in this form, Sachi is able to ricochet off the walls, destroying the punching gloves as he travels, and eventually gathering enough velocity to break a hole in the roof of the pit.  Returning to his original state, Sachi is afflicted with every injury he would have sustained in stone form, making him a bloody mess.  Alven, apparently not noticing Sachi’s wounded body, congratulates him on his technique.  Sachi then informs Alven of his well-thought out rescue palnd and makes use of his Stone Longshot to transport both himself and his friend Alven to first floor of the hideout once again.

Taking advantage of the inebriation of the gang members, Sachi once again sings his omelet song, this time making use of trendy omelet dancers.   As Sachi performs the hypnotic breakfast-based show tune, Alven sneaks past the already lacking guard of his mother and sister, and frees them along with the sacred sword Kokaishu.

Sachi would be content to complete his song, but Alven will not let it be so; he reprimands Sachi for his over-dramatic ways and heads for the exit.  Decimating the mob of enemies that assaults them, Sachi tells Robin and Amanda to flee for safer ground, but prevents Alven from doing the same.  As the enemies draw closer, Sachi tells Alven that he must be the one to fight.

The gang’s boss leaps into the fray first, but Alven barely notices: he is too preoccupied with the vision that is occurring within his mind.  Confronted by the Crimson Cobra, the very spirit of Kokaishu itself, Alven learns the true way of the swordsman.  Utilizing the power of the sword within his soul, the spectral snake possesses Alven’s body and defeats the boss with a single strike.

Regaining control of his body, Alven explains the mechanics of Kokaishu to Sachi, demonstrating its ability to take a shape fitting the user’s style.  Directly after this, Alven utilizes his newly honed skills to finish off the rest of the gang with his Fang of the Vengeful Cobra attack.

At the advice of his mother, Alven becomes the first addition to Sachi’s slowly developing crew.  Sachi and Alven sail away from the small  island, not knowing when or if they shall ever return.  However, in their hearts, they hold an anticipation for the adventures that are to come.

Day 5

A woman strives to protect her child from the cruel and spiteful attacks of a crazed beast.  The child sails away in a small boat, his mother shouting words of encouragement to him as she shrinks away from his view.  Behind her, the beast awakens; he glares at her with endless malice reflected in his cold, dead eyes.  His glasses glint in the sunlight.  The scene goes blank.

Meanwhile, Sachi and Alven are sailing by in their floating craft, Sachi goofing off as usual.  However, this peace is not to last; the chapter’s events truly begin at the arrival of a new character, a boy named Paru, who had been sent off by his mother in a last-ditch effort to protect him from the terrible beast of Gahuri island.  The beast, a crazed man who abuses his for the sake of wounding others, massacres Gahuri at times in order to ease his own self.  Swearing to defeat this horrid foe, Sachi and Alven sail off toward the forsaken island to return Paru to his home.

Upon arriving at Gahuri, Sachi and Alven note how deserted the main town is.  As Sachi tries to place an odd smell lingering in the air, Alven wonders aloud at the location of their new friend Paru.  Meanwhile, Paru talks to his brother and sister, discussing whether or not to warn Alven and Sachi of the impending danger as the beast of the island approaches; however, in the end, they decide that warning them would be an impossibility, for the beast was about and it would be far too dangerous to come out of hiding.

Upon the arrival of the beast, Sachi’s perplexed observation is brought to light: the smell in the air is the metallic odor of blood.  Without any form of warning, Sachi is blasted in the stomach by an Aero Pulse attack, propelling him backwards as blood is ejected from his mouth.  Alven prepares himself to aid Sachi in his fight, but he is told to stand down—Sachi wants to finish the fight on his own.

Rushing the enemy with a Stone Uppercut, he misses as the mysterious foe simply steps aside.  Retaliating with another air-based assault, the Aero Push, he discovers that Sachi cannot be wounded by his wind so easily as a result of his ability to transform into stone.  Sachi assaults his enemy with a barrage of stone bullets with his Stone Machine Gun attack, to no avail.  Utilizing a barrier of wind, the beast of Gahuri repels every projectile.

Though the beast attempts to blast Sachi with yet another aero attack, Sachi catches him off guard with a Stone Crocodile move and nearly destroys his arm.  Rising into the air, the Beast prepares to create another attack; however, Sachi grips his leg with his hand, boosting himself towards him with his Stone Long Shot move.  Unfortunately, it is far too late before it becomes apparent that the Beast’s rising was simply a trap—Sachi is defeated with a single blow from the Beast’s Aero Rush move.

In a fury, Alven rushes into the fray, using his Feet of the Cheetah technique to get behind his adversary.  He then uses a seemingly harmless move, the Bloody Petal Dance, inflicting a simple wound on the Beast’s face.  Seemingly victorious, for the moment at least, Alven contemplates a way in which he can grab Sachi and retreat.  It is then that he is hit from behind with a powerful Aero Scythe attack, leaving him to fall to the ground in defeat.  As Alven and Sachi lay in the ground, mortally wounded, the fabled Beast of Gahuri leaves the scene, even as a mysterious cloaked stranger approaches the massacre.  As the stranger utters but a single name, the Chapter ends: “…Waleed…”

Day 6

Sachi awakes in a strange domicile, at first convinced that he is still engaged in combat with the nefarious Beast.  However, a mysterious robed stranger assures Sachi that he is safe and leaves him to wait for the wounded Alven to regain consciousness as well.
Once both members of Sachi’s small crew are awake, the stranger reveals herself to be one known as Lily, an old friend of the island’s antagonist.  He was known as Waleed then, before he had wrought havoc and slipped into the cold embrace of insanity.  Tragically enough, an overload of stress caused him to accidentally inflict a seemingly mortal injury on his best friend Lily, creating a catalytic reaction which ended in the poor adolescent losing his mind and brutally murdering the spectators present.
From that day on, Waleed became a terrible beast—a senseless killing machine—and Lily fears that there is no way to return him to his senses.  Sachi, however, refuses to hear any such negative talk and insists that he will defeat the man in combat and force him to return to the world of reality, where Lily waits for him.
Upon Sachi’s request, Lily tells the pair Waleed’s fatal weakness, the very ability that was lost in favor of his newfound wind powers: he can no longer control his sleep.  Deciding to make good use of the time in which Waleed will remain peacefully in slumber, Alven and Sachi begin training with Lily’s help.  Their rematch will take place in ten days.
The countdown begins.

Day 7

Alven waits in a field on the decided day, wondering where Sachi could be.  Unfortunately, it isn’t long before Waleed takes notice of him, hungry for blood.  Asking Alven the purpose for which he awaits him, he is told of a favor he has granted to a woman named Lily.  At the mention of this name, Waleed is thrown into a frenzy, rashly attacking Alven with an aero pulse, which Alven easily parries.
Thus begins the battle of Alven and Waleed, fraught with the perils of wind vs. blade.  Alven’s training has obviously yielded some pleasant, if unexpected, results—as a result, Alven is able both to fly and to slice wind with his blades.
Once more, the mention of Lily’s name causes Waleed to enter a rage, allowing him to score the first successful hit of the match: he wounds Alven with an aero bullet.  Though wounded, Alven refuses to give up and unleashes his Absolute Cross attack, which though easily evaded culminates in an entirely new assault in the form of a lightning bolt with the Shards of Thor attack to which it can be linked.
Sadly, Waleed is a battle-hardened individual with complete mastery over his powers; as a result, he is able to avoid Alven’s assault and launch a counterattack in record time.  Meanwhile, Alven concentrates all of his energy into his blades in an attempt to finish the battle with one spectacular blow, Dancing Blood Blossoms.
Despite the force with which it is delivered, Alven’s blast is only enough to excite Waleed’s manic desire for battle, causing him to aim an aero pulse directly at Alven’s head.  Just before the final blow is delivered, Sachi heroically bursts into the scene, resplendently interrupting Waleed’s stance.
All the players are on the field.  The true battle begins.
