Colleges & stuff. October 4, 2009

Short little post ~ I’m just wondering what colleges you guys are applying to, or looking at because they’re interesting. Me,

California Institute of Technology
University of Illinois(in Urbana)
Georgia Institute of Technology
Purdue University–West Lafayette
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
SUNY Binghamton

Basically the 1 reach, 4 fit, and 1 backup. It’d be nice to stay in the EST Time Zone~ “fit” colleges are in order of favorite less favorite (they all look good though).

Oh yeah, looking to major in either Aerospace Engineering or Software Engineering (I’ll probably go for a Computer Science degree though and major in Aerospace) ~ maybe Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, but those aren’t really in the plan.

For me,

Columbia
NYU
Sophie Davis
Stony Brook
Brooklyn
Johns Hopkins U.

mayyybe throw in a princeton just for the heck of it, crazy low chances though

probably pre-med, but i’m thinking of a history/religion/political science major

Nah, Carnegie Mellon looked good at first, but then kinda slipped off… rather fast. Its a good school in terms of education but from what I’ve heard the surround area isn’t too great.

Okay, I edited my list of colleges so that its in the order that I want the most -> least favorite. I also took out Bucknell because it didn’t have that great of a reputation, and replaced it with Purdue, which some of my friends suggested.

Georgia Tech and U of Illinois rank 5 in 2010′s Engineering rankings, GA tech 2nd after MIT in Aerospace/Aeronautical/Astronautical Engineering. Cappex says I have a good chance to get into it too, lol.
Purdue is ranked 9 on 2010′s Engineering rankings and ranks 4 in Aerospace/Aeronautical/Astronautical Engineering.
Caltech is ranked 4 in 2010′s Engineering rankings and 5 in Aerospace/Aeronautical/Astronautical Engineering.

Good stuff, the rest just comes to cost and location xD

trying to keep it short sweet and close to home but if you have any suggestions i’m all ears.
